Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years in China and other Asian countries. It has only been in the last century that the practice has moved into America. It is a holistic approach to healthcare, with the main premise being that the body has an innate desire and ability to find balance. The beauty of acupuncture and other Chinese medical modalities is that they give a push to help the body and mind do what it is already trying to achieve. It gives this push in a very gentle way, and thus works very well as both a stand alone treatment for some chronic conditions and as a complement to more traditional modes of medicine.

An initial consultation consists of discussion to get to the root of the disease within the body and creation of an individualized treatment plan. Acupuncture, massage and/or healing touch, and cupping are common treatment modalities, but there are also many other offerings such as acupressure, reflexology, moxibustion, herbs, and more.
